International Conference Announcement - BINH DINH ANCIENT CERAMICS - VIJAYA KINGDOM AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH THANG LONG CITADEL - DAI VIET (11th - 15th CENTURIES)

The topics of Vijaya kingdom and Champa’s cultural heritages in Binh Dinh, especially Binh Dinh ancient ceramics, have attracted the special attention of both Vietnamese and international scholars and have yielded many significant achievements.

In an attempt to achieve new, deeper and more comprehensive insights, and continue to shed more light on Vijaya kingdom’s history, culture and its relationship in economic and cultural exchanges with Thang Long capital (Dai Viet) and other countries in Asia, Southeast Asia in particular, during the period from 11th to 15th centuries, contribute to preserving and promoting Champa cultural heritages in Binh Dinh province, the Research Center for Imperial City - Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences coordinate with the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province to organize an international conference in Qui Nhon city, Binh Dinh province.

1. Themes of the Conference:

- Systematically study the formation, development of ancient ceramic production centers and the issue of owners of these ceramic kilns in Binh Dinh province

- Comparative study to clarify the types, characteristics, date and role of Binh Dinh ceramics in the cultural and social life of both Champa and Daiviet in history

- Study to clarify the role and position of Binh Dinh ancient ceramics in Asian maritime trade network and in the context of economic and cultural exchanges with Asian countries, Southeast Asian countries in particular;

- Continue to clarify the relationship between Vijaya kingdom with the capital of Thang Long (Dai Viet) and other countries in the region in the history

4. Location: Qui Nhon city, Binh Dinh province

The Conference Organizing Committee is pleased to invite participants to submit papers and join the conference. The full paper (about 10-15 pages, Times New Roman font, Unicode, font size 13) should be submitted no later than August 31, 2017 to giangiseas@gmail.com and/or donhung4691@gmail.com.
